Mackerel & Egg Mini Omelette

🧺 Ingredients
- 1 egg, beaten
- 30 g cooked mackerel, flaked and bones removed
- 1 tsp water
👩🍳 Method
- Whisk the egg with the water until just combined.
- Heat a small non-stick pan over a low heat with no added oil.
- Pour in the egg and scatter over the flaked mackerel.
- Cook gently until fully set, folding once, about 3–4 minutes.
- Cool completely, then chop into small cat-sized pieces before serving.
Nutrition: Oily mackerel is a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids that support skin and coat condition, paired here with egg for a complete-protein treat that most cats find irresistibly aromatic.
📝 Notes
Mackerel is an oily fish rich in omega-3s but also fairly high in fat, so serve only a small portion occasionally. Cook the egg through fully — never serve raw egg. Remove every visible bone. Best served fresh; refrigerate leftovers for up to 2 days.
