Salmon & Sweet Potato Mash
A silky, nutrient-rich mash built around fresh salmon — one of the best natural sources of omega-3 for cats. Beautiful coat condition in a bowl.

🧺 Ingredients
- 100g fresh salmon fillet
- 80g cooked sweet potato
- 1 tsp flaxseed oil
- Pinch of dried catnip (optional)
👩🍳 Method
- Steam or bake salmon fillet at 180°C for 12–15 minutes until cooked through.
- While salmon cooks, boil or steam sweet potato until completely soft.
- Remove all bones from the salmon carefully — run fingers along the fillet.
- Mash the sweet potato until smooth with no lumps.
- Flake the salmon and fold gently into the sweet potato mash.
- Add flaxseed oil and stir through.
- Serve warm (not hot). Refrigerate remainder.
Nutrition: Salmon is one of the richest natural sources of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids, which support coat gloss, reduce inflammation, and benefit heart and joint health. Sweet potato provides beta-carotene and gentle fibre.
📝 Notes
Always check meticulously for bones — even small pin bones are a choking hazard. Salmon should be fully cooked, never raw (raw salmon can contain a parasite harmful to cats). Keeps refrigerated for 2 days.
