🧺 Ingredients

  • 90 g cooked chicken breast, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp very finely chopped, well-cooked broccoli
  • 1 tbsp oat flour
  • 1 small egg, beaten

👩‍🍳 Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan 160°C) and line a baking tray.
  2. Steam the broccoli until very soft, then chop it extremely finely so it is easy to digest.
  3. Mix the chicken, broccoli, oat flour and egg into a soft dough.
  4. Roll into small bites and flatten slightly on the tray.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes until firm, then cool completely.
Nutrition: Chicken supplies the animal protein cats depend on, while a small amount of soft broccoli adds gentle fibre and a little vitamin C and K — a light, treat-sized way to vary texture without overloading a carnivore's digestion.

📝 Notes

Broccoli is safe for cats only in small, well-cooked amounts and should never dominate the recipe — cats are obligate carnivores and need meat first. Introduce a new vegetable gradually and watch for any wind or loose stool. Keep refrigerated and use within three days.

⚕️ Before you cook for your cat

  • Homemade food must be balanced. Cats need taurine, and deficiency causes heart and eye disease.
  • Treat recipes are supplements to a complete diet, not a replacement for it.
  • Check any new ingredient against the toxic-foods list, and ask your vet before switching diets.
